During the following days after elections for mayors and governors, government agencies granted equal protection to all candidates, regardless of their political tendencies or whether they agreed or not with the current National Government.
- In the capital, Bogotá, the candidate for the left-wing party, Polo Democrático who opposes the current Administration, was elected with guarantees of his full rights.
